Finally!

For the last year my oncologist has been telling me she was running out of ideas for my aggressive - and resistant - liver tumors and has been recommending I seek care at the #1 cancer center in the country, MD Anderson in Houston, TX. Due to my health insurance being provided by my state's medicaid program, I have not been able to go and have my care covered. If you remember, when I looked into what it would cost out of pocket it was $19k just for the initial consultation. Nope!

Finally! I have good news-

Thanks to a generous donation to cover the additional cost of adding me to my husband's plan (for approximately 6 months while I wait for disability to hopefully kick in), I finally have coverage - in network - that will allow me to go to MD Anderson next month! Thank you, Lord, for hearing our prayers and providing a way.

My husband will accompany me and we'll be there about a week and a half for multiple appointments, scans, and tests. Thankfully, he is able to work remotely so he won't be missing a ton of work.

I am trying not to think to much about the cost of going. My husband reassures me it's going to be okay but with me no longer working, I can't help but cringe at the numbers. Flights, lodging, food, transportation, and incidentals....😬😫

“Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?"
~ Matthew 6:25‭-‬26

Lately

I've been feeling terrible all this week as I'm detoxing off of 2 months of daily morphine. I had been feeling pretty good and not needing them, so I weaned myself off. Oh my... chills, muscle cramping, body aches, excessive sweating, headaches, nausea 😵 Of course, many of these symptoms could also be caused by my damaged liver but I think it's more likely a combo of the two. The pain meds are also damaging to the liver so that was my main motivation for getting off them, if I could.

I've been resting and hydrating, trying to flush these nasty toxins out of my body. I'm so thankful for the gorgeous weather we've been having and for all the work my husband has put into our beautiful backyard sanctuary.

Please pray for me to start feeling better. I have no appetite and my belly is bloated and aches all the time. Also pray I can stay hydrated.

Pray for our upcoming trip to Texas. If you wish to help with the cost of my care and all that goes with it, here are the links:

From the bottom of my heart, thank you 💗
