Doxil, this lovely bright red chemo cocktail, and I are having a great time getting to know each other today.
Doxil has many of the same side effects as his brother Adriamycin and all of his chemo cousins.
I only had one slight "hiccup" the last 15 minutes when my hands went numb and I couldn't keep my eyes open. They stopped my infusion, checked my vitals and gave me saline. After 5 minutes, they checked my vitals again and when everything proved normal, continued giving me the last bit of my infusion.
All is well. I'm home now and ready to sleep the rest of the day.
One more thing...
Yesterday when I met with my oncologist, she told me she putting me on palliative care. I'm actually surprised she didn't do it sooner but it should be helpful right about now as we're thinking of what the future holds for me. She feels that my time is "shorter than it is long" and that I should get my affairs in order. Please pray for me as I figure out what that looks like for me and how God would have me walk it out. I desperately miss my family and some of my dearest friends, both near and far.
All my love and prayers for your EVERY need beautiful Tika.
It seems so trite to say it. I continue to pray for God’s comfort for you. Sending all my love and hugs.
