It's been almost a week since my first dose of Doxil. I am happy to report all is going well. Thank you, Lord. My side effects have been minimal and minor. Monday and Tuesday I slept off and on all day. At this point it's hard to say if this is the new pattern but one can hope.
I had labwork done today and met with my oncologist. She is very pleased with all my results so far. We're still waiting on a few to come in but overall she is optimistic that this new chemo may actually be working. Normally I would go in for a CT scan after 8+ weeks, which would be around the end of April, but since this treatment is only administered every 4 weeks, she doesn't want to wait that long and will schedule me for a month from now. That scan will give us an inside view of whether or not the tumors in my liver are shrinking. Please pray!
If it doesn't...
We have another plan in place for me to seek care outside Oregon. We were able to add me to my husband's insurance plan and that should allow for more options than my state's Medicaid.
I am pretty sure I am on the mend from pneumonia. My lungs sounded clear today and I don't have that heavy feeling in my chest anymore. Every now and then I have a little episode of congestion to clear but thankfully that is healing.
My pain is finally under control again! After 2 hospital stays, we finally found a combo that works for me now.
I am also doing well learning how to manage my diabetes. Most days I'm only having to administer one dose of long-acting insulin before bedtime. Occasionally I need a corrective dose during the day but that has become rare.
I am so grateful to have good news to share this week! Rejoice with me and let's enjoy it while it lasts ❤
