I was scheduled to go into the hospital Monday to take care of the last 2 active tumors in my body. They have not responded to treatment like the rest. My doctor called yesterday to say my insurance will not cover the procedure. They immediately appealed it, sent the appropriate documents and letters. Today I had to cancel it all together. The appeal is still pending but they can't hold my spot on the operating room schedule unless I agree to take financial responsibility for it. I'm not willing to do that. There is absolutely no reason why my insurance shouldn't cover this. I'll wait and see what happens with the appeal. Who knows how long we'll be waiting. Meanwhile, those tumors continue to grow, the mutated cells continue to multiply. My disappointment tonight is an understatement. When they gave me only 12 days to prepare for this, I cleared my schedule and now have to try and scrounge up work for the week. Please keep me in your prayers. I'm in such a funk I don't want to be around myself.
