Beginnings and Endings

It's been a busy week of beginnings and endings:

  • My studio is now closed. While this makes me sad, I am excited to see what this next chapter looks like. (Locals, if you know anyone who needs 2 dozen chairs, send them my way!)

  • After almost exactly 15 years of homeschooling, we graduated my youngest son on Friday (6 months early- he earned it!). On Tuesday he will turn 18. (Moms of littles, it's true...don't blink!)

  • My hearing was Tuesday to determine if my insurance provider has to cover tomorrow's procedure. It was a mess and I did not feel good about it even though I'd spent endless hours preparing for it. (The judge it was assigned to no showed. My exhibits were conveniently not received by my insurance company so they couldn't admit them and I couldn't refer to them.)

  • The judge's ruling came. He's upholding the denial of coverage due to the fact I have tumors outside my liver (even though they're inactive).

  • Friday we confirmed details with my doctor and the hospital, got me pre-registered, fasting instructions, confirmed check in time, etc. We also confirmed that we will accept financial responsibility for the procedure (while we're seeking legal advice for next steps).

  • Saturday the hospital called to postpone my procedure. They stated that since we are paying for it, they need a few days. Not sure why... Charlie fought back and it went before their medical director. We are still on the schedule.

I am holding my breath here, folks. Until they wheel me back tomorrow and start prepping me for the procedure, I have no doubt Satan will do all he can to thwart these plans. I will continue to pray for God's will to be done here. Please join me.

I appreciate the outpouring of love and prayers for me and my family. I ask you to please continue praying: for my healing, for my care team tomorrow performing the ablation and my care to follow, for my boys and husband, and my parents and siblings also. Please pray for traveling mercies as my sister flies here to help and visit later this week. Some of you have asked how to help. Aside from prayer, a mealtrain has been set up by my church group. A GoFundMe campaign was initiated by friends and is still active. All monetary donations will go toward my medical expenses and health care needs.

Thank you!
